web site does not exist

I just started using frontpage about a month ago(so I am new to all of the
frontpage lingo). Anyhow, when I tried to publish my web site last week, I
had a problem. When I typed in the url address that I wanted my site to be
at, it said that the web site does not exist there and asked me if I wanted
to create a web site at that address. The web site does exist - I can go
there now. I have a web host provider and everything...that's where I got the
address. I have no idea why it won't recognise the address. I have no idea
what to do now. Any help that you guys can provide would be VERY
appreciated!.. Thanks so much!

And talk with your hosting company. They should help you. If you can't talk
to someone, get a new host.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now. You aren't using Comcast,
are you? :>)

Seriously, though. If you've been able to publish with FrontPage in the
past, *with the FrontPage extensions* (not FTP) and you aren't able do it
now, see if you can re-install the extensions. That may help. You may be
able to do it yourself through the hosts Control Panel or call your host/ISP
and have them do it.

After fighting with Comcast, I finally got it fixed. I was able to upload
for *one* day. The next day I was back to "A website does not exist at...."

I use Frontpage to manage four websites, and none of them have this problem
except, of course, my own personal site, which is on Comcast.

Good luck. I'll be watching this thread to see what your final resolution
is.

I tried that(telling it to create one), and now it says
server error: cannot create folder "default.html"
What in the world does that mean?! My brother works for a University, and
he set up a folder for me to publish my web site to... He is working with
frontpage 2000, and I am working with frontpage 2003. Is part of my problem
because I have a different version then him?

I have never published anything to my remote web site before... I am trying
to publish it the url address of the actual web site( the folder that my
brother has set up ).

Do you have any suggestions on what to do next? Thanks for your help so far!

Hey guys! I just got it up and running!!! I tried typing in my web site
address without the default.html. The first couple times I tried doing that,
it didn't work, but it finally just worked! I don't know if it had something
to do with my server or what. Thanks for all your help!!!
