Web links don't open in Outlook Express

I no longer can open web links that are sent in emails. When my curser is
over the link, it changes as normal to a hand. When I click on the link,
nothing happens. What can be done to fix this?
I have Outlook Express 6.0, IE 7 and XP (SP2).
