WD and McAfee Security Center issues.

Have anyone notice that McAfee Security Center ratings are not displayed
after installing WD? Is not a major issue, but there could be other following
problems. Also, I did a full scan of my 30 GB notebook and WD took 6 hours to
complete it! Even Adware SE doesn't take that long, so is this natural or an
error of WD. On the bright side, it did found a trojan...but in the Microsoft
AntiSpyware folder??? The Trojan was named NetDot. Now how can that be
possible? A trojan in the previous AntiSpyware (which is uninstalled) or just
another bug?

When I installed Defender and let it uninstall MSAS, I found MSAS folders
that were left after installation. There was some application data and I
think the quaranatine folder. Mine was empty, so I manually deleted it. My
first install of Defender did not function properly ( I thought) so I removed
it and had to do new install. I wish the updated release notes had been
available then. I also have noticed that Defender classifies some McAfee
components as "unknown". It is possible that you inadvertantly had it block a
McAfee Componet. Look in your "history" page in Defender and retrace its
actions. WDef also alerted me when McAFee Seurity Center makes some
automatic changes and when I changed the scheduled time for virusscan and
reset McAFee to auto update. THIS IS A LITTLE ANNOYING, BUT THE POINT IS THAT
WINDOWS DEFENDER IS LETTING ME KNOW WHEN ANYTHING CHANGES MY FIREWALL AND
ANTIVIRUS SETTINGS. Just make sure you do not block something McAFee needs
to do. WD also alerts me to certain changes when I log into AOL. I will
also mention that I have Webroot Spysweeper also, and it just recently asked
me whether or not I want to allow WAOL AOL 9.0 - apparently WAOL was detected
by its ActiveX shields. IT THESE ANTISPYWARE PROGRAMS CAN DETECT SPYWARE AS
WELL AS THEY DETECT THE PROGRAMS WE WANT TO USE, THEN WE MIGHT ACTUALLY BE
SAFER. TIME WILL TELL!!!

Well thanks for the responses...

Old Rebel,

When WD first scaned the computer, it found a NewDotNet trojan in the
quarantine folder and then erase it. However, the problem with McAfee
Security Center appeared just after installing WD. Since I didn't have any
problems with the previous version, I do believe there's something wrong
between McAfee and WD. Also, there are some McAfee components placed on the
"Software Explorer" as Not Yet Classified and others (some even the same,
like Viruscan) with the Allowed classification. On the history profile, there
are McAfee components marked with the blue unknown shield, but they are
allowed. But, no program appears on my Allowed Items section. Any ideas?
Should I reinstal Security Center? Apart of that, McAfee products are working
fine, and as for an infection I doubt it. I use Adware, McAfee Internet
Security and CCleaner, which I use regularly. Once again, thanks for your
time.
