Was 16 bit DOS Problem <-> NOW Protect Mode/DosX Problem... Could an MVP look at this...!

Hello Group and/or MVP,
I am using Win-XP-Pro with SP1 installed.

I've been having the MS-DOS or 16 bit win problems when trying to install
certain programs. This began about several months ago. I looked at the
article # 324767 and others... and placed the autoexec.nt file in the
system32 folder. Contents is:

Contents of the autoexec.nt file are as described in the article 324767. I
tried to reinstall the program (Adobe Premier 6) and ended up with the
following error message:

"Win 16 subsystem was unable to enter protect mode. DosX.exe must be in
your autoexec.nt and present in your path."

So.... What do I do now...?????????? Add a path statement??? Where!! How!!
What!!!

Also.... and more important.... What would cause this to happen?!?!?????

Did you follow all of the options posted previously?

This installaton program will reinstall the missing or corrupt Windows XP
system files command.com, autoexec.nt and config.nt. The absence or
corruption of one or more of these files causes a "16 Bit Subsystem" error.

Hello Kelly-mvp. I've completed all of the suggested fixes that you
listed - including re-expanding the autoexec.nt and the config.nt and made
sure that the command.com were all in the C:|windows\system32 folder.

BUT... the problem persists with the error message: windows could not go
into protect mode dosx must be in the autoexec.nt file and in your path (I
thought they were????????)

What else should I do????
