WARNING! announcement

D

Don Freidel

Today, 1/19/2005 a warning was given about
MidAddleAdware. This adware was trying to install on our
Dell computer. I took the necessary steps to Remove it and
I assume it did. I ran a full scan again, but the alert -
white letters on a red background - WARNING!Microsoft
AntiSpyware Alert stayed there. I can't get rid of it.
It will NOT go away. I pressed the Remove! button twice
afterwards and the program evidently recycled and came up
with the same message that this adware was removed.
I have since rebooted twice and it still appears on my
Desktop. I have moved thus alert to the far right of the
screen because nothing I do eliminates it.
It appears this spyware program is spotting
adware/spyware OK, but such a thing as mentioned above
is annoying at a minimum.

Don,

Try booting to Safe Mode and running MSAS from there.
Spyware programs can have issues removing running processes as you are
witnessing with MidAddle. Sometimes the spyware attempts to reinstall
itself when you attempt to remove it.
Please let us know the result.
