Hello!

I'm trying to make windows XP embedded run the program vnc.exe at
startup. I've created a component with the VNC.EXE file and registry
settings to run it at startup. It imports OK, but when I drag it into my
target, the following errors a prompted in the dialogbox:

Warning 1116: Adding unreleased component to configuration: "VNC
[Version 1.0, R4]"
Warning 1121: Can not find file resource paths for 'VNC'. Please check
the component definition.
Warning 1121: The estimated configuration size may not be accurate.

I've think I missed some thing basic in the .file import or ??

Best regards,
Uffe Nielsen.

Did you set up correctly a repository for your component ???
if not, you have to, because import process use it to retrieve files.

Thanks, it was the repository settings. I've got it working when
importing into one of the 3 build in repositoryes. I can however not
create my own repository. I get the following error:

Trying to import SLD file:

Copying 'VNC Repository' repository files to
\\GM-UFFE\Repositories\{ADF81A2D-1BC5-49E8-83BA-D019AC52B18F}
Error: Cannot delete repository files in the target folder. Please make
sure you have write access to the files.

The following files have not been imported
D:\Documents and Settings\Uffe2\My Documents\vnc2.sld

File(s) Processed : 1, File(s) Succeeded : 0

I've tried to change the "read only" flag on the
\\GM-UFFE\Repositories\{ADF81A2D-1BC5-49E8-83BA-D019AC52B18F} folder,
explorer accepts, but when I recheck the properties it is back to "read
only"

Is it not correct to create a repository by adding it in the component
designer "repository" folder and then importing the component ?

Thanks for the help,

Uffe.

Uffe,

Most likely, you don't have write permissions on your XPe Repositaries share
(\\GM-UFFE\Repositories).
Having write-accesed share is not sometimes acceptable on network so you may
want to remove you particular repository directory and re-import your
component again. This is the easiest way I know to update component
repositories.

Uffe Nielsen,
XPE supports RDP; it is vastly superior over VNC. If you choose to use RDP
make sure and specify that the user is enabled to do so.

Sean Gahan
