Want vertical lines in right margin to indicate new text

Is there a way, through styles, or whatever, to easily
denote new text in a document with a vertical line in the
right margin? Yes, I know this can be accomplished with
the Track Changes feature, however, this gets entangled
with other Track Changes features needed in the documents
and is confusing to the users I support. This was easily
accomplished in WordPerfect by changing the Redlining
character and location. Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated. Thank you.

Which version of Word do you have? If you have Word XP (2002) or 2003, you
can insert a Bar Tab at the right hand margin. Click the "TAB" icon to the
left of the Ruler until a Bar Tab appears, then click inside the ruler at
the right hand margin. You can drag its location to suit your needs. Keep
in mind that this will be as large as your paragraph is, not just on the
line where the change is.
