I callend DELL today and we deisntalled SP2, and MM1 is now back. And my
computer is not running as well as it did with SP2. So I want to reinstall
SP2 and keep MM1.

I read the information at http://www.eicsoftware.com/PapaJohn/MM2/MM2.html

I think I have two versions of MM1 on my harddrive:

c:/windows/servicepackfiles/i386/moviemk which is 788KB (created September
2, 2004)

and

c:/Program Files/Movie Maker which is 836 KB (created September 2, 2004)

I am so confused and frustrated. All the movies and stills are of my two
children and I just don't want to fiddle with the program that I use to send
their antics to family around the world.

Do I have two copies of MM1? I would really appreciate receiving a
step-by-step advice on how to keep one version of MM1 "safe" when I
re-install SP2. Please.

And I'm looking at an MM1 file size of 807KB dated 8/29/2002 - the size is
often read differently by different software. Run it and if it works, check
the version number. My file shows version 1.1.2427.1

Keep it safe by putting it on a floppy disc. It fits without compressing it.
