Would like to hear some recommendation. I don't need SLI. I plant to
spend about US$400 on motherboard + CPU.

MW--Will mention a few mb's recommended by AMD:
ECS RS485 ("M-M" suffix tested)- economical but check features
MSI K9AGM ("FID" suffix tested)
MSI K9NBPGM2 ("FID" suffix tested)
Asus M2NBP-VM ("CSM" suffix tested)
note: this Asus board was certified by AMD when built with
Nvidia Quadro NVS 210S and the Nforce 430 Southbridge
Nvidia seems to have more Linux drivers than other Graphics mfg's.

If you're going to try Solaris, as well as Linux, the following is
recommended by both AMD and Sun:
Asus M2nPV-VM

Best Luck. I'd like to hear how things turn out.

I am also interested in an Asus board as they usually have better
quality. Thanks for the commendation.

I ended up buying these:

Asus M2N-E
AMD X2 AM2 3800
Kingston DDR2-667 1G x 2
Asus 7600GT PCIe VGA
Seagate 250G (because of OEM requirement)
Windows XP Professional OEM

Have you fired-up the whore yet? I read somewhere that it's best to do
initial stuff with just one RAM card installed. Not clear on reason.
Like to know what kind of results you get overall.
