W2K Server issues after Admin password change

R

R. Nolley

We recently changed the administrator password on our w2k
server after an IT employee left the company. After
changing the password we started noticing problems with
the server and now with the workstations logging on.

We cannot modify services. If you try to set a service
to manual, automatic or disable, when you click okay the
system hangs and you have to use task manager to end the
task.

It is extremely slow when you try to view property pages
and the system hangs when we try to view the network
settings. I have tried changing the administrator
password back to the last one but this did not solve the
problem.

We are running W2k Server sp4 on a Gateway 7200 server
PIII w/768 RAM.

Thanks,

Rob

Check Event Viewer for errors.

That is the problem. The event viewer isn't telling me
anything. I see the normal items in their like w32time
and the startup of services, the routing stuff.

Thanks for the response.
