W2K Pro sp4 install reliability

I've been reluctant to install SP4 on an older PC because many people
had problems installing SP4 when it first came out. Is the latest SP4 a
mostly reliable patch to install?

The PC has SP3 and all other updates, but now windows update insists I
install SP4 before I can get any further updates.

Yes to reliable. No it hasn't changed since it's release.
