w2k pro <- laptop xp home, how to connect

I want to connect my laptop(xp home) to my desktop(w2k
pro).

tried parallel direct cable, did not work.
HOST
-tcp/ip, netbeui
-MS print-file sharing
-client MS-Network
-allowed tunneling
-made incoming connection, w2k-host, xp home guest
CLIENT
-tcp/ip
-MS print-file sharing
-client MS-Network
-made DIRECT connection xp home guest

BUT it doen't work I do not get a connection.

Qhat is wrong with my settings ??? HEEELP !
Easier ways to connect a laptop ? Solutions ?

You're not alone. I couldn't network this Win2k
with a Win95 PC. After so much frustration I gave
up and WinZip-ed the files across several floppies.
It's a pity you just can't write a script telling Win2K
what you want to do!
