W2K fax can't 'print to file'

I'm trying to print a document (such as a .pdf) to a .tif (graphic) file
using the MS Fax printer and the 'print to file' checkbox. Doing so results
in a file with the specified filename having 0 bytes and no data. This is on
a machine with a recently Win2K recently installed and updated.

I have successfully used the fax printer to actually send the page as a fax.

I've tried deleting the fax printer and reinstalling with no success.
The files faxdrv.dll and msfaxmon.dll are both present in the system32
directory. The fax printer properties dialog and management console dialog
all appear to be set up correctly (but maybe I'm missing something.)

I have used this function on a different Win2K machine with no problems, and
have seen other messages in the newsgroup where this process is said to
work.

What can I look for to get this to work?

Solution found.

An application called "Fax Talk Communicator" was bundled with the Creative
Modem Blaster V.92 PCI modem. This app had been installed and was
interfering with the 'Print to File' function.
Uninstalling the app restored the ability to print to a .tif file.
