Vuescan with PF 3600 Pro3/ Reflecta Proscan 4000

Dear Ed,
having had a look through a list of german forums treating film
scanner issues I have come to the conclusion that unbelieveably many
people are impatiently awaiting ICE support for the PrimeFilm 3650
Pro3/ Reflecta Proscan 4000 scanner. Since meanwhile everybody knows
that Cyberview X-MF does not get the best out of the scanner and
Silverfast is too expensive to be run with this scanner, people are
longing for a new Vuescan version allowing them to enjoy all of the
scanner's features.
Do you have any news about the progress in this question ??

Best regards,

Tim

Yes, this should work well with VueScan 8.0.5. If it doesn't,
could you send a problem report by e-mail?

Thanks for your answer, Ed !
Silly question: where can I activate the ICE feature in the VUESCAN
software? When running it with the default settings there is no scratch
and dust removal taking place.

PS: I cannot see the filter "Infrared Clean" in the filter tab with the
Reflecta Proscan4000/ Primefilm 3650 Pro3

Furthermore I encounter with 8.0.6 (Windows XP, USB 2.0) more often
crashes of VUESCAN and its extremely slow.
Right now I found somebody using the PF 3650 Pro3 who cannot use his
scanner with 8.0.5 at all - it's just not detected. Running 8.0.1 is
fine on his system

Unfortunately, VueScan isn't able to read the infrared channel
from this scanner. The SDK that PIE produced doesn't have any
way of accessing the infrared channel.

You might consider adding this info to your Supported Scanners list so
folks won't buy a PF3650Pro3 with the expectation that VueScan
supports IR cleaning.

I assume the SDK for the PF3650u also has no way to access the IR
channel -- correct?

hi christian, meanwhile I could work with 805 and my pf3650pro. as i
thought, i had to update cyberviewx. i got the newest from their
wepsite. I wonder, because my scanner is pretty new.
however, now my system works properly - unfortunately without ice
support. that's why I wrote >I could<.

I got my PF3650PRO3 out of storage today, and plan to work on getting
the ICE working with VueScan. I won't be able to separately store the
infrared channel in raw files, but I hope to get it to use the built-in
ICE feature (it's in the PIE libraries).
