vpn outlook vs web access

what are the advantages and disadvantages from using
outlook trough vpn and using outlook web-access?
which one would be better?

it depends on your needs and the version of exchange. Outlook over VPN gives
you the full featured client with local storage (if you use offline or cache
mode) while OWA may be faster for quick email checks. Earlier versions of
OWA have fewer features, but Exchange 2007's OWA is much better.
