VPN drops local shared folder access.

I have a shared folder set up on my computer for other network users to
access. I also connect to another network through a VPN connection a few
minutes each day.

My problem is... is when I connect using this VPN connection, other users
on my network cannot access the shared folder on my computer.

I need to allow the other users in my network access to this shared folder
if I am using my VPN connection.

Your help is appreciated. Thanks,

Rob

When you connect by VPN you are likely changing your default gateway to the
gateway of the remote network. There is no route from local computers to
the remote network then back to your computer. See if there is a setting in
your VPN client to "not" use the remote gateway. Keep in mind that this
reduces your VPN security.

Ok... I didn't think about the default change of default gateway. What you
say makes sense. Thanks!
