VPN does not work after MS updates

A coworker is running W2K and I am running XP Pro are
having the same problem. We both keep our systems up to
date with the MS updates. We are both using the
NetScreen Remote Client to connect to a NetScreen 5XP at
the office. After applying some updates, we have lost
the ability to connect to the company VPN. I have tried
backing out the obvious updates, but have not been able
to get connectivity back. Has anyone else experienced
the problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks, Carlton

I am using Netscreen Remote software on WinXP PCs also
and having issues, and now wonder if they are related to
XP updates and SPs.

Have you checked to ensure the Internet Firewall options
is not selected?

My problem is that 99% of the time, my remote users
(dialup to internet) are unable to ping a lan address,
and hence unable to connect to Exchange.... any ideas?

I have a couple of PCs running windows2000 with the
software, and no issues at all, so to me, this seems like
a WinXP issue. My older laptop was running WinXP and I
never had any issues connecting. I have over the last
few days rebuilt it and now im having the same problems
as the new XP PCs....

The two I applied were:

Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components
(823718)

August 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6
Service Pack 1 (822925)
