VPN Connection Failed

I have one user that can not connect to the network via a vpn., The
connection is always asking to connect to a dial up connection instead of
connecting via his dsl connection. this just started and the user does not
know of any changes made to his laptop, he was able to connect just fine
before. I feel that a connection property has been changed but I dont know
what it would be.

I will think so too. The connection properties may be changed. Try to re-create another one.

Thank you for the input.
The way I resolved the issue was to use XP's system restore and I restored
the PC to a time before the issue started. That solved the problem.
I am reasonably sure of what casused the problem The user went to a Kinko's
and printed something on there network, in doing so he had to install an
application and after the installation of the software his VPN did not work.
uninstalling the software did not solve the problem. the system restore prior
to installation did the trick. I would like to know what got changed though,
this is quite baffling.

Hi Larry,

I'm glad to see the problem was resovled by yourself. I suspect the reason
can be caused by a feature of VPN connection. Open the properties of the
connection, in the General Tab, you will see an option to Dial another
connection first. I think this may caused your previous problem.

Let me know if you still have concerns. Have a good day!
