Volume is wrong

I copied a CD with some downloaded programs I had on my win2k machine,
but at the end of the operation I got a message from Nero, saying, it
was unsucsessful. Anyway I tried the CD and all was copied and some
programs could be opened. I then went to install some of the said
programs on a friends winxp machine and I got a message telling me the
Volume was wrong and the programs which I thought were ok, would not
install.
Was it because Nero gave me the error message, or could it be some other
reason?

hard telling what all is wrong with that CD. You may want to call that
one a coaster and try again.
