volume icon not there anymore

Recently, I installed and uninstalled a lot of audio editing software. After
I restarted the computer, my volume icon in my systray disappeared. I
checked the sndvol32 file or something like that, and it seemed fine. I have
also checked the Place Volume Icon in taskbar for my audio properties. My
sound is working fine, and I am currenty regulating my sound with a shortcut
placed in the quick launch toolbar. However, I am no longer able to adjust
the sound with the volume buttons on my keyboard.

I was wondering how to get the volume sys tray back and the ability to
adjust from my keyboard.

Go to Kelly's site:

Click on V, then scroll down to "Volume Control - The volume icon does
not appear in the notification area (system tray)" for some tips.

For the keyboard, after you get the volume icon back to the notification
area, uninstall/reinstall the software for the keyboard. That's what
controls being able to adjust sound from the keyboard.
