Volume control Icon Missing from task bar

I have accidently deleted the volume control Icon for my task bar. How do I
get it back?

I have accidently deleted the volume control Icon for my task bar. How do I

i tryed that but i got a message that said "Windows cannot display the volume
control on the task bar because the volume control program has not been
installed. To install it use Add/Remove programs in control panel. Sense its
not listed, how do i instll it?

external command, operable program or batch file

note that the instructions state that 'cd-rom' is to be replaced with the
drive letter of the cd drive.

I have accidently deleted the volume control Icon for my task bar. How do I

I did what you said the way you said to this time, but - It still won't work,
BECAUSE - I just realized this is a Gateway that has a "operating system
disk" instead of a regular windows disk and i guess tht path is not good for
this type of disk. sorry I bothered you. I called Gateway tech help and
they screwed things up worse than i had it before, so i talked to my sister
and we put our heads together and worked it out. I now have an icon on the
task bar, and I have sound. But when I right click on the volume icon to
open the volume control nothing happens and I discovered that all I need is
the SndVol32.exe, which i had my sister send to me, when I click on it it
opens the volume control BUT its now on my desktop and I need to know where I
should put it so it will work from the task bar icon. My sound system is
Realtek AC'97 if that is any help to you.

Go to start/run, and type:

%windir%/system32

This will open the folder you can MOVE sndvol32.exe into.
