VNC

Hi all

I know this is not the forum for VNC but i have been googling without luck.
What i tyring to do is say i will lead someone to a webisite and on going
there it will download a file and will be able to share the user desktop.

I know this can be done but I just don't know how. I have used VNC and it
requires server to be installed in teh clients machine and i can access the
clients computer by usein a viewer. But i don't want to install VNC server at
every machine.

Can someone help me.

Hi

No matter what, some thing has to be done on a computer that is going to be
the Host (be controlled over the Internet).

Windows Remote Desktop is one solution, as well as VNC, or

Ultra VNC has some concoction that let you prepare ahead an installation
program and install it on the Host computer in case that the person who need
help does not know how to configure any of the mentioned above.

Thank you for you reply

Well, i have called microsoft and also the support line of our firewall
provider. They simply took me to a website and once i was there it
automatically prompted me to download a file and install. Upon installation
he was able to see my desktop to trouble shoot.

This concept makes it easier as nothing needs to be manually installed in
the clients computer. Maybe VNC is not the answere but i am sure it is
possible.

Let me know if you know anything

The website(s) installed an ActiveX control that allowed remote control.
The program in use would be similar to VNC. And it still would have to be
installed on every PC you wanted to control if you used this method - only
the distribution of the program (web page versus installer) has changed.
