Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable installation uses C:\ as temp dir

I downloaded the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf
to a temporary directory (C:\Temp). When I install it, it expands these files
to C:\ and it doesn't clean them up. I don't want files left in C:\ after the
installation completes, especially because the redist. is installed on
customers' machines.
Is there a way to have the install cleanup or to avoid using C:\ for these
files?
Second, the eula's for languages other than English have text like
'**You have received the software as part of the Visual Studio 9.0 Beta
Program.
The terms and conditions of the Visual Studio 9.0, Beta 1 license agreement
applies to your use of the software.** MICROSOFT PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE LICENSE
TERMS MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO 9.0 PROFESSIONAL, BETA 1 These license terms
are
an agreement between Microsoft Corporation (or based on where you live, one
of
its affiliates) and you. Please read them. They apply to the pre-release
....' which doesn't make sense - this is not beta software. Is this
intentional?

Microsoft does not want you to use the redist package.
Use the merge modules instead and incorporate them in your setup.

On your dev machine: program files\common files\merge modules

It has been reported on Microsoft's connect web site. The VC team is aware
of this issue.
