Vista X64 Service Pack 1 "pushed" out to my PC yesterday

R

Roy Hinds

Hi hope somebody might be able to enlighten me.

Yesterday I turned on my newly build Vista X64 machine and in the update
options I was offered Service Pack 1.

I downloaded and installed it and about 30 mins later was up and running
again.

Very pleased that it's solved one or two issues for me, however I am
somewhat confussed.

The general "release" date is published as being in March !

Are Microsoft offering it to some customers early in order to build up a
installed user base of those already running Service pack 1?

I've got no issues with that, I am just interested to know.

Very happy with my 64 bit Vista by the way

Anybody know the release date for SP2 to fix the
problems generated with SP1.

Just kidding....

somewhere between sp1 and sp3

Im looking forward to SP19 where at last they will fix some of the bugs I
mentioned.

How about SP1½? Sounds very Harry Potter-ish.
