Vista x64 installation error

Hi all i just built my own pc and purchased an OEM Vista home premium 64bit.
Specs: ASUS p5K PRO MOBO
COre 2 Q6600
4GB DDR2 Corsair
Western digital 640MB

Now the build went fine and it all seems good so far...then i inserted the
vista disk. i get as far as choosing Disk 0, partition 1 to install onto then
the installation begins. Then however it just sits at 0% copying files for
hours and eventually an error mssg appears with something to do with he
partition. Error code 0x80300025.

Im at a loss and appreciate any help!

Furthermore i tried to format the disk and got an error "failed to format the
partition Error 0x80070057"

Is it sometihng to do with the HDD or something serperate :S

Specs continued( i forgot some things) ATI Radeon 4870, Corsair TX 650W
