Hello everyone... I just used windows update to install a
"recommended"update for windows media center...when I tried to restart my
computer it wouldn't start and I had to do a system restore so that my
computer would start..But now when I shut down my computer it checks for
updates and then re-installs the windows media center update again..and
guess what?..Now my computer won't restart without a system
restore..obviously something about this update is causing a problem..any
ideas?..I tried disabling media center from task manager before updating but
that didn't work...thanks.. Mike

Change the way it updates from Auto updates to Notify you when they are
available.
When you see the list of updates available, right-click on the dodgey one>
hide it.

Why do you allow the update to be reinstalled? Hide the update and
you'll never see it again and it won't install. If it is installing before
you get a chance to hide it you can change your Update settings to notify
you before downloading and/or installing.
