Vista windows installer

keeps popping up saying."the feature you are trying to use is on a network
that is unavailable" "enter alternate path to a folder containing
'status'.msi' I am NOT trying to inslall anything, and have to use the
taskbar to close it down.
It even pops up when I try to close the computer down.
Any one help please?

Got the same thing aftger I tried to install a CD ripping program that was
incompatible. How do we get rid of this "STATUS.MSI" nag?

Hi Guys

I have found the sulotion:

The Windows Installer service may disabled on the machine.

1. Go to "Start" -> "Run" , type "services.msc" and press on "Enter"
button.

2. Double-click on the service named "Windows Installer".

3. Check the value in the "Startup type:" field. If it's currently set
to "Disabled", then this is the

problem. Change it by selecting "Manual" from the drop-down box
