Vista & win media / media center sound bugs

I double checked the sound setting, every is 100% OK.
But could get the sound to work, not to mention the software behave like
memory hog which remind me memory leaks on win9x mal-wares.

I downloaded iTune, work fine.
I installed VLC media, run all without any flaw.
Even Winamp is not a problem.

I wonder if anybody encounter this problem with Vista Media Player and media
Center? How did you fix it?

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is.
Are you saying there is no sound output from Media Player and Media Center?
