I have Windows 2000 Professional and I want to buy Windows Vista Ultimate
upgrade version. From my understanding you need Windows 2000 already
installed.

However, can I delete the partition that Windows 2000 is on during the Vista
installation and create a new partition to install Vista?

Many thanks!

Similarly,

I read about the upgrade Vista from Vista.
With this method is it possible to delete the partition that has the
original Vista installation on it and create a new partition. Thus
installing the new Vista on that?

Many thanks!

During the first install of Vista you will be able to delete existing
partitions. During the second install you will not.
