to uninstall sp1 I get the message uninstall faild.
Installing the new Sp1 stops with the message: Sp1 is already installed.

Not enough information to get focused help. You forgot to tell us:

1. What problem you are trying to solve that is a "known problem".
2. Anything about your computer.
3. If the computer came preinstalled with Vista (what version?) Service Pack
1. Which if it did, that's why you can't uninstall it.

You have a pre-release version of SP1 that you must uninstall. Type
"appwiz.cpl" in Start/Search and hit Enter. Look in the left panel and
click on "View installed updates." Scroll down to "Service Pack for
Microsoft Windows" and highlight it. Go back to the top and click
"Uninstall."

After the reboot it may be a few minutes before Windows Updates offers SP1
again. There may be other updates first.

Sorry Malke, I describe the problem only in the subject ...
1. Problem: I had a clean installed, activated Vista ultimate + some
applications; In january I installed SP1/RC and now I get the message: Your
Windows license will
expire in 0 hours. Back up your files and install any edition of Vista.
After about 2-3 hours the system reboots without warning ...
2. MS says, it is a known problem, I have to uninstall SP1/RC
3. Uninstall of SP1/RC failed every time (not successfull - restoring old
system with SP1/RC)
4. Installing the new Sp1 stops with the message: Sp1 is already installed.

What can I do to uninstall SP1/RC succesfull?

Ah, I see. This is the chance you take when you install beta software and
why you should never install beta software of any kind on a production
machine. If following Colin's instructions doesn't work, back up your data
and do a clean install of Vista. After you've installed the operating
system and all the drivers for your hardware (except peripherals), install
the final Service Pack 1.

Did you uninstall elevated as I instructed? If it is a permissions issue
that should resolve.

If that does not work you will need to reinstall Windows.

Hi,

yes, I tried it - without success -your way. But noe uninstallation SP1/RC
was successfull - I used this way:
http://www.vistax64.com/vista-performance-maintenance/118304-cannot-uninstall-vista-sp1-beta.html
(Hint from emees28986: "Go to control panel programs and features installed
upgrades and sp1 hit uninstall. When reboots and trys to load the sp1 again
shut off computer using power button. restart in safe mode. repeat the same
steps . This time when it reboots in will show that it is uninstalling sp1.")

Thynk you to all.
