Is there a way, other than altering whole screen resolution, of reducing the
size of the sidebar and gadgets therein?

You can close it [right-click on Sidebar and select Close] and it is reduced
to the System Tray. And gadgets dragged onto the desktop will remain on the
desktop. Gadgets docked to the Sidebar get reduced along with the Sidebar.
Otherwise, unless someone comes up with a regedit ..

Thanks Saucy. I figured as much. I just thought the icons are very large and
there may be a way of resizing them. I have it set to "Hide" when I'm working
anyway.
