Yes,
The screensaver on my computer will not activate either and I have a
Microsoft notebook wireless usb 3000 mouse plugged in. My screensaver never
starts. I never really attributed it to the usb mouse but since I also have
a PS2 mouse plugged in I'll have to unplug my usb mouse and see what
happens. Also when put into sleep mode the computer wakes right up again,
perhaps this is also attributed to the USB mouse.

Update: Sure enough my screensaver started up when I unplugged my Microsoft
USB mouse, although sleep still wakes up without any help on my behalf right
after the computer shuts down.

Dell XPS410 running Vista Premium. Switched Dell keyboard and mouse to a
wireless MS keyboard and mouse. Using MS Laser 6000 wireless mouse would not
allow the screen saver/power saver to function. Spent 1 hour with Dell tech
support who took contron of my computer. Final determination is that Vista
did not like the MS wireless mouse.
Way to go Bill...............You would think that you could at least make
YOUR products work with each other.
