You are so far out in left field you don't deserve an answer, but being the
patient and tolerant type, I'll give you a hint as to how far astray you have gone
by addressing the "cut off" issue. You have made same terrible assumptions about
my statement of being cut off. I hadn't even reached a person, let alone made
them angry enough to hang up. That has never happened, but, during the transfer
process, where my call from an automatic answering machine was transferred to a
person in India, the line went dead. I was 'cut off' by the machine, not a
person, you bone head.

Are you sure you were actually cut off? I just reactivated Windows 2003
server yesterday, the hold time was about 45 seconds, prior to that
there was a click and about 10 seconds of silence.

Did you even ready my post?

You're one of the very people I'm talking about.

I VERY CLEARLY stated that I wasn't talking about the people from India.

I stated that I work at a call center and deal with people far worse than
those in the call centers in India. That is who I was VERY CLEARLY referring
to with my comment about notsobrightese. So you're saying that people from
Washington State, Virginia, California, Oklahoma, etc., don't speak
Americanized English as their native language?

You try dealing with Assurion Roadside Assistance, Cross Country Motor Club,
Road America Travel Club, etc.

Have them call you up at 3am wanting you to send a tow driver out to a
non-existant street address and have them argue with you about it for 5
minutes that these places exist and they aren't even located on the same
freaking side of the US, but they know better.

You talk to parents every night who SWEAR their kid has a temperature of 208
(yes 208) and that they are only slightly worried. The FREAKING thermometer
only can go up to 108, a full 100 degrees lower, but they know better now
don't they? I'm sure they will win a chemistry prize for showing the world
how the body temperature can get to boiling and yet a human can still live.

You try talking to a mom whose kid has oral herpes and anal bleeding and she
claims she has no idea how it happened. Yeah, right.

These are the sort of morons and rejects I deal with every single night.

The people in India have one of best IT economies in the world and some of
the brightest minds. I can handle language barriers, I however cannot abide
simpletons who can't even properly read and comprehend what is in front of
them.

Sitting on the phone and typing some letters is laborious?

Wow, and to think the Brits just love to say that we Americans are such a
lazy society.

I know have proof that hypocrisy exists in the UK as well as the US.

LOL! Say that over there.
The alt newsgroups are full of profanity and stupidity.. why would I
want to go there?

You don't want to go there because you're afraid to deal with old hands
at Linux and can only go after newbies like me. I would only be a troll
if I didn't use Windows and I do use it every day.

Trolling has nothing to do with your level of experience with a product.

Trolling is when you behave in such a way that you are trying to cause
trouble so you "patrol" and post things you know will upset people.

I'm surprised with how well you troll that you don't even know the meaning
of the word.

An example please (as if).

I help people on these groups when I can and that includes suggesting
something other than Windows.

Linux advocates are the biggest bunch of trolling fanboys on the planet. No

Sigh, another insult and no reply to content, as predictable as the tide.

Check out www.ubuntu.com and order the CD. Get version 6.06, NOT 6.10.
You can run the CD live without installing it from the CD and see if you
like it and if your hardware is compatible. No numbers to type in and
you can reinstall it five times a day if you want and no numbers to type
in unless you choose to use numbers in your user name or password.

This is a Windows Vista forum, and your off-topic Linux postings
are not welcome. Don't you have something better to do than
pissing off 99.9% of the newsgroup readers here?

It doesn't really matter to ME that this person is in
Bangalore, India. It's not costing me anything but a little time and
patience, and will return my needed results if I am patient and polite. In
addition, my problem is giving needed employment to a very poor Third-World
individual.

Right, by taking the job away from some poor slob in the US.
Numerous call centers in the US have closed in the past 10 years.
I was one of the ones laid off.
There are plenty of poor deserving individuals in the US.
As they say, charity begins at home.

Your words "I am used to deciphering 'nobrightese' are extremely offensive to
anyone who has a lick of human understanding.

Don't you realize that "misunderstanding parochial English" and "the speaker
is not being very bright" (as you imply by your idiotic compound word) are two
different concepts?

Even the "brightest" individual is going to sound "not so bright" if he/she is
not understanding or speaking your native language as well as he/she could or
should.

Please, be a little more understanding of other cultures and languages?

That's all well and good, and politically correct, but if it is a call center
worker's job function to service US customers, then he better darn well
understand and respond correctly to US idioms. If he can't do that,
he's not qualified for the job.

Oh no, another Usenet cop! How quaint. If you don't like my posts, use
self control and don't read them. If you don't have self control, plonk me.

Your persecution complex is showing...
A cop arrests people for unlawful acts.
I merely pointed out your anti-Usenet behavior (off-topic
posting to the point of trolling). You obviously get your jollies
from anti-social behavior.

Hmm interesting you say that about it being midnight.

That activation center is open 24/7 I do believe.

He also wasn't being sarcastic, he was just saying why wait for e-mail
when you can call anytime 24/7 and be done in just a couple minutes.

I was going by the information printed towards the bottom of Microsoft's
support page:
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?&c1=509&gprid=11712&

Perhaps the specific lines for activation are indeed 24/7, but I didn't read
this at the time. But given the time of day, understandable.
