Vista PowerPoint Issue

N

News

Good day

I apologize if this issue has been brought up in the past.

I have updated to Vista and PowerPoint 2007 and am having a lot of problems
with my video clips in my presentations. Some play OK and others will only
play audio tracks. My guess is that this is a video codec issue, but WMP
does not search for nor find the proper codec for the clip.

Not sure if anyone has any guidance they can provide, but any assistance
would be a great help.

The clips in question are mostly .avi files which were made with the Indeo
5.2 codec.

Any responses would be appreciated. I will be away from the computer for a
few days and apolgize up front if it appears I have not responded to anyone.

Thanks you for your guidance.

My first suggestion would be to use a program to change the codecs into
something that most PC's would recognize (thereby eliminating the need for
codec searching). I like to use PFC Pro for this.

As Vista uses another folder structure, it might be only a path length
issue. Copy the presentation and all linked videos to a folder with a short
path, e.g. C:\Test. Paths should not be longer than 128 characters.

Best regards,
Ute
