Signatures are in %AppData%\Microsoft\Signatures, not in the PST.

are you sure you know what i mean....i saw in a similar question your
response was it wasn't possible to transfer outlokk files to vista without an
ouside program???

I am using XP on computer transfering FROM not to: If i'm understanding
your BRIEF response to mean the path i should go is:
Docs & settings/ user name/ local settings/ appl.data/ miscrosoft/......then
you said to click on SIGNATURES......that DOESN'T EXIST......
I only have :
CD Burning, Credentials, Desktop Search, Feeds, Forms, Help Ctr, Media
player, Money, Office, One Note, Outlook, Port Devices, WIndows, Windows
Media, Works........
should i be clicking on any of these to get to "SIGNATURES"?

The problem with what you typed is that's not where I said to look.
%AppData% is C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data, NOT \Local
Settings\Application Data. Just enter the path I types into the Address bar
of Windows Explorer.

Because Outlook simply doesn't keep them in the PST, that's why.

OMG...now i get it......thanks!

FYI, may i suggest you be slightly more specific in your responses....had
you typed that path to begin with there wouldn't have been this
misunderstanding. All you had typed originally was:
Signatures are in %AppData%\Microsoft\Signatures, not in the PST....

I thought you were picking up where i left off.....
c:/user/ local settings/ app data/ microsoft/ signatures

Hope can you appreciate that.....

thanks for responding again.....

%AppData% is as specific as you can get. It is an environment variable
whose value is "C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data". If you
had used the environment variable in Windows Explorer you would have gotten
to exactly where you should have been.

Nope. Familiarize yourself with the various envornment variables Windows
defines. Open a command prompt window and type "set", then press Enter to
see them.

Use %AppData%\Microsoft\Signatures as the path. It will apply both to
Windows XP and Vista.

I am having the same problem. Using Outlook 2003 under Vista and using Word
as email editor.

Copied the signature file from old computer and pasted it in the new
location path ( %AppData% etc ) you provided below ) in Vista on new
computer. But the file pasted, so I guess I need to open it, and copy and
paste each individual signature.

But even the signature that I created in Vista does not show up when I
create a new email message. I only have one email account.

In XP the default signature thatn you chose would show up on each new email
message and you could right click it to change signatures.
