Vista on Virtual PC 2004

Has anyone successfully installed Vista beta2 on Virtual PC 2004? I have
attempted this several times but get a file load error and have to quit. I
figure if I can get it loaded on a virtual PC, then I won't ruin my personal
XP workstation.

I might add that Vista iso was loaded to DVD as regular image. Maybe there is
something I'm doing wrong or, as the other posts say, there is a problem
using VPC 2004 with Vista.

The best way to do this I had success with is:

1. Load the ISO using ISO mount utility like Nero's ImageDrive or the free
Dameon.
2. Use the physical drive where the ISO is loaded on the VPC.
3. Make sure the VPC drive has at least 512MB and 10GB space.

First of all, I would say Virtual PC 2004 is not a recommend choice, but
persons have been successful. I recommend using VM Ware Workstation 5.5 or
Virtual Server 2005 R2. VM Ware Workstation 5.5 preferrably. The more RAM
you assign to the Virtual Machine, the better the experience, I recommend a
minimum of 512 MBs or more.

You can download the VM Ware trial here:

Virtual Server 2005 R2:
