vista on raid?

hi all, hope someone can help. i've received the beta vista, and want to
install it to my raid0 array. however, i get a message saying that vista
cannot identify my disk arrangement when i try to install from within
windows. i'd rather not have to do a clean install, but just install on top
of my xp pro x64 installation. is this possible? many thanks for any tips
etc.

4gb ram
2 x 300gb sata in raid 0
nvidia 7800gt
asus a8nsli-dx

When you reach the screen that gives you the option of standard or custom
install, you need to click on "Load Drivers" so that you load the drivers
for the SATA drives.

As Mark sadi you have to load the nVidia nForce 4 Vista Beta RAID drivers
during the first part of install (as you would have done with XP using the F6
command).

The RAID drivers and how to install them are on the nVidia Beta downloads
page.

The install has not even started at the point Mark is referring to. It is
at the point where you choose the volume for the installation.

It is the window that shows the available volumes. If you don't see an
available volume you use the Load Drivers button below and to the right of
the window to provide a driver, after which the volume will appear (You may
see a volume you want to use and still need to provide a driver.)

Setup will permit you to use a floppy, cd, or usb pen drive and you can
browse to the location of the drivers.

I too have tried this and am unsuccessful. My setup is a little different but
same problem.
I have a tyan S2885 MB dual opteron 246, 2 GB DDR, I have 3 HD on the IDE
channels, and 1 80 HD on a SATA connection. My XP Pro installation is on the
SATA, I would like to partition that drive to install vista. When I boot from
the DVD and choose to install clean. I click on the "load driver" and then
browse and choose the driver that I got from Silicon Image fro the SIL3114
chipset. It says it can be used fro Vista.. but It doesnt show up when I have
the box checked for "hide drivers....." The drive is not on a raid just a
single 80 gb dsrive on the sata channel.. what driver should I use..
shew..... i am confused :) any help is MUCH appreciated...

I have a similar problem. I installed Vista and it worked fine. Then in did a
windows update and it had to restart. When it restarted the safe mode option
screen appeared but none of the options work. I tried repairing it by booting
from the install dvd. It says it cannot find a HD. I have two 80gb Raided
hd's. Does this mean i need to install drivers for the raid? And if so, who
has drivers for Vista?

AMD 3200+
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
1gb RAM
ATI Radeon x850xt
two 80gb RAID

Please help, thank you.

I found the problem and confusion.. When installing XP pro sp2, you must F6
and put in the floppy which came with the MB, the label on the floppy is
"Silicon Image RAID Driver Disk"... so I kept downloading the raid drivers
from Silicon image... but what you need is the BASE DRIVER and then vista
will install perfectly.. I LOVE Vista... and am soooo happy now :)

i tried installing the raid drivers from the "repair windows" option from the
dvd at startup. However, it will not install the raid drivers nor will it
recognize the HD. Does anyone have a suggestion??

Damn vista upgrade...
