Hello,

Am stuck on this one.

My brother brought a laptop with vista home premium 32 bit, the laptop has died of various ailments and is now scrap.

He is now building a PC and as i have a copy of vista home premium 32 bit, can he load the software of my disk and then use the license key that came with his laptop to activate it???

Can't seem to find anything on this.

Here are Microsoft's Q&A's regarding Vista activation, which might help, until anyone here can give you a more straightforward yes or no answer that is. :)

Cheers mate,

I read through something similar, it kind of touches on the subject but never really gives a clear answer.

Unless anyone else can suggest anything, i will just go ahead with trying it tomorrow when it gets built.

Thanks.

It will probably work. You will need to phone them. When they ask why the machine is different tell them you've just done a system upgrade with some new parts.
