Vista interface with ISP software

Has anybody else had a problem with Windows Vista after getting high speed
internet installed? I recently bought a new computer from Gateway and
decided to switch from dial-up to high speed. When my high speed dudes came
out and installed the high speed everything worked fine. Then when I
restarted my computer I got this blue screen that I couldn't do anything
with. I called Gateway and they said it is a widespread problem with the
interface between Windows Vista and Internet Service Provider software.
Gateway told me Microsoft is working on it, but I can't access the internet
until they come up with a fix. (For a temporary work around Gateway had me
delete my entire Operating System and then reinstall Vista.) Anybody heard
of or had this problem? Any suggestions?

My DSL provider, AT&T (formerly SBC) admits online that some of their
software doesn't work under Vista.

It is not widely known, but you don't need *any* ISP software for your
broadband connection. If you need help with that, ask in the appropriate
forum here:
