Vista email backup to external hard drive????

I have just gone through a nightmare changing from Outlook Express to Vista
email. To avoid this in the future what folder under each screen name should
be saved as emergency backup to External hard Drive.

Well, you should back up the entire disk, but at a minimum, backup your user
account folder...
ie. C:\Users\Mike

To see where your messages are stored, click on
Tools - Options - Advanced - Maintenance - Store Folder

Your contacts are stored in
C:\Users\Mike\contacts
