Vista Dual Boot Problem

Hi,

I installed Vista RC1 on my C: drive while my XP installation was on my
D: drive. Once vista had completed installation, when I turned on my
computer, it went straight into vista, giving me no option of going
into XP. So I found out from the microsoft knowledge base that you can
manually create an entry in the BCD boot file using the bcdedit.exe in
command prompt but when I try to do this, it says I don't have access
to the boot configuration data store. I tried changing permissions to
bcdedit but this didn't help. So I downloaded VistaBoot and created an
entry for XP with the corresponding D: drive and VistaBoot creates that
but when I start up and select the XP OS, It says there is no ntldr
(which I don't know what that is).

Any ideas that might help me get into XP would be much appreciated.

You can find ntldr in the i386 folder on your XP CD -or, If you have
installed a service pack, go to D:\Windows\Service Pack Files\i386. Copy
this file to the root of C:

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I've copied that file to the root of C: and it still says cannot find
ntldr, so I copied it to the root of D:(where XP is located) and it
just resets every time I select Windows XP.
Any ideas??
