Vista doesn't recognise built-in webcam on Sony Vaio

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ2XP/C which was designed for XP but 'Vista Ready'.
Vista runs very well on it, but it fails to recognise an in-built webcam that
I have on the machine. This worked fine in XP but under Vista, it's as if
it's not there. Is there a way I can get Vista to recognise the webcam? I
have Vista Ultimate.

Robin,

Check the Sony website for the correct Vista compatible drivers for the
webcam in your Vaio computer. If found download and install them. If no
drivers are provided there, contact Sony for information about this.

Thanks Freddy but I already tried the Sony website. There is a driver there
for "camera" and I tried that but nothing new happened. Also, there is no
point contacting Sony because I remember them telling me they won't help if
you installed Vista. They only help you if the machine is in the state it was
when you bought it, i.e. XP.

Can anyone help?

Are there Sony help groups - similar to this one? There may be other Sony
owners who have found out how to solve for this.
