Vista Contact folder

Where is the Contacts Folder? I guess that is what I should have asked so
as to avoid sarcastic answers. Maybe there is no way to avoid sarcastic
answers.

For the contacts folder used by Windows Live Mail when signed in with a Live
ID:

c:\users\userid\contacts\<your windows live id, (e-mail address removed) for instance>\
this seems to be similar to what is at windows live sites but I find that at
times the synchronization is not exact.

the contacts at
c:\users\userid\contacts\ are used if you are not signed in.

each contact is separate, with a suffix of .Contact and can be copied

No, particularly as if you do Tool-Windows Contacts in Windows Mail, the
location is right in front of you in the Location bar....You didn't see
that?

Thanks for the answer. I must be really dumb, but I can't find c:\users
I also don't understand live id. I always sign in when the computer is
booting by clicking on the icon. Is that a "live id?

You can open Explorer (Windows Logo key + E) and your user name will be in
the left panel. Click on that to see your folders. Also you can click on
Start then click on your user name at the top of the right panel to see your
folders. By "live ID" they mean the ID you use to sign into Windows Live,
not your logon icon.

To see C:\users\Your User Name, just press Windows Logo + E, double click
Local Disk (C:) in the left panel, and under that double click Users and and
you'll see your user name. Double click that and you'll see your folders.

How can I back up the Contact Folder for Windows Mail in Vista?

Can't you see a button called "Export" in the tool bar at the top of
the contacts window? There is on mine.
