Vista and XP Network woes

You have to run 'control userpasswords2' to change it but if you have
never used that I guess it's unlikely that Guest has a password set.
Does anything show in the XP machine's Security event log ('properties' of
the events) at the time you attempt to connect from the Vista machine ?

Doc,

on my XP Home machine one route is
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event viewer then select
Security.
Find the time of interest, select an event and right click (or toolbar)
for the properties.
You can then step back/forward through the events.

I hope that's standard XP equipment so to speak.

I haven't looked in the group but have you posted in
microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing ?
You won't be alone and details rather than curses seem to get the best
response from the knowledgable there :->

Ok event viewer doesnt seem to show any errors or anything amiis
