vista and word 2007

Does anyone know what would be causing Microsoft Word files to be deleted on
my computer. I have Vista and Office 2007 and files keep disappearing. I have
up to date Virus Scan and all my hotfixes have been applied. I checked to
make sure they were not moved, and have run undelete utilities. My machine
acts like there were never any word files ever saved. Any help would be
appreciated
