Vista and Windows Mail issues

I posted tghe following on the mail forum 3 days ago, and got no reply.
Perhaps someone here can help:

I have Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit). Here are two recurring issues I
need help with, none of which are earth shattering:

1. When setting View-> Text Size, using Western default, the text size is
too samll for my feeble eyes. Resetting the size to Largest is okay though
the setting won't stay. Merely moving from one folder or forum to another
sees the text size changing back.

2. Views Bar, though turned off will show itself at random times.

Please post over in the Vista group, Windows XP doesn't have "Windows
Mail" and won't be relevant to the issue you have.
