vista and quicktime

I am a new vista user and am having an issue finding software that will
allow me to edit and burn dvds using quicktime videos from my digital
camera. The windows dvd maker and movie maker don't support quicktime, and
there are very few "certified" programs that do as well. I purchased Ulead
videostudio 10, which said that it supports quicktime, but the patch for
vista actually negates that feature...

not sure where to go with this now?? any ideas on using quicktime with
windows/vista?

thanks!

You'll have to check with Apple about Quicktime since it's their
program. They have said that Apple software is not yet compatible with
Vista but they're working on it.

I thought it was interesting that when I went to install the free Quicktime
player on a fresh Vista install, there is a little note there that says
something to the effect of "If you are using quicktime on Vista, let us know
how that's working". The implication being to me that they have no idea what
people running Vista should expect, "Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't but
we'd sure like to know!"

The other annoying thing is that Apple now attempts to give you a drive-by
download of itunes when you get the latest quicktime. Unless I missed some
miniscule checkbox somewhere to request to not get it, they just start
installing it no matter if you want it or not. I was able to hit the cancel
button after quicktime finished installing and get the itunes install to
rollback while leaving the quicktime player.

Then to add in
