Is there a Firefox that works with Vista? I have vista home premium. Will
Firefox Version 2.0.0.3 work with Vista? I have also seen information about
a Firefox Vista.

Any suggestions would be great.

Strike the line about Firefox Vista, I am a little slow and misread
something.......

Incidently, I have FF and Opera on Vista Ultimate and both work fine. If you
go to FF's website you will see it mentioned the browser as being able to
run on Vista.

Yes, Not only does Firefox v 2.0.0.3. work, but Thunderbird v 2.0.0.0,
SeaMonkey and
as far as i know all the rest of the Mozilla windows suite of software
works with Vista.

Even AOL's Netscape 8.1.3 works as well. And IMHO any of the above are
better than
IE7, and WinMail.

JDa, are you using Thunderbird? I noticed a lot of folks have their replies
at the bottom of a message. FF has that set as default.

It depends what you want to do.
Thunderbird isn't a fully functional newsreader by any means.
It is hopeless for multipart binaries (even non-porn apparently!)

Its switch selectable. Under Tools, select Account Settings, then
choose the
"Composition & Addressing", It really does not matter wither you choose to
reply at the top or bottom of the message. Most times its up to the
newsgroup
or the procedures set in place by the organization you work for as to how
you reply/answer a letter/post. At least Thunderbird gives you the option.
Some Office email programs choose that for you. I also compose all my
corespondents in html, and have Thunderbird convert it to text for
newsgroups.
I also have a the SIG signature switch extension installed, great if you
have
multiple signatures, (work, home, funny work, funny home, sig to send to
a troll,
etc...)
Some of the extensions are really useful.

Thats very true about multi part stuff. I just highlight what I want
to look at and copy to a folder. Then edit the folder contents with
either Agent or notepad, making it one post instead of many. Saving
the folder back, then reload Thunderbird and read the folder.
It will display single Type 1 yEnc posts, but thats all, none of the
Type 2, or multi parts. For that I use Agent v3.93.

Phew! Piece of cake!
Why not just use Agent?

Thanks. I am using Windows Mail. I was curious if many folks here were using
Thunderbird as most replies I look are at the bottom. I find it hassle free
to read replies from the top so as to save trouble of scrolling down. Since
I like to play around with programs I may give Thunderbird a real spin on
Vista one day. I used to use it on XP.

Windows Mail isn't a fully functional newsreader, either.

If ya wanna do Usenet right, you've gotta use software that's *first*
(or only) a newsreader.

In my case, it's Forte Agent.

I haven't encountered its limitations yet.
The "killer app" for me is the way it deals with crossposts.
Reading in one group marks read in all groups.
I keep up with a group of 5 high activity groups that have a high proportion
of crossposts and that one feature saves me literally hours a day.
An addon will do the same for Tbird 1.5 but not yet 2.0

If I was going to buy one that'd be it.

When a news post is rated using Windows Mail, does it appear as a helpful
post (after being rated as helpful), on the Microsoft Newsgroup/Support
website?

I don't know.
I find web/usenet interfaces too much of a pain to use.
