In Windows XP there was an advanced power setting that would disable the NIC
if the computer was booted up and there was no active network connection. It
was a real pain for users that didn't understand why they had no network
connection if they plugged the cable in after booting up and had no
connectivity. At least the feature could be disabled.
Is there a similar feature in Vista? I've noticed the same issue with some
of our new Vista laptops but cannot find the setting anywhere. Thanks in
advance...
