Vista 64 system tray shows no network or UPS after latest update

Vista 64, 2GB, Pentium D, fully patched - which may be the problem - and
client for WHS PP1 on a Shuttle SS31T.

After the latest updates the system tray on my Vista 64 workstation is
showing that the network (NIC is SiS 190, all parameters via DHCP, IPv4 only
- IPv6 is disabled) is disconnected and the UPS (APC via USB) is not present
- both have red Xs. But both are there as a quick trip to Device Manager
shows. And I wouldn't be typing this if the network were faulty.

There's nothing of interest in the event logs. Disconnecting and
reconnecting makes no difference for either. I've tried repairing the network
connection and re-detecting hardware, all to no avail.

So which updates has / have caused this error?

Those drivers were not updated. And they actually work - they just *appear*
to not work, so I doubt it's the driver at fault. I'd rather not do a
rollback until I know which updates caused the problem. Then I'll do a
rollback followed by a manual Windows Update excluding the faulty updates.
